We know from experience and the growing body of supportive literature […] that the therapeutic relationship a counselor forms with each client can be the most powerful tool for helping clients change.”

Siobhán
Hi, my name is Siobhán. I am an accredited Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapist based in Co. Limerick.
I work with adults one-on-one, offering a safe and secure environment to discuss personal and interpersonal issues that may be causing emotional distress. I believe every individual is doing the very best they can at a point in time, therefore I ensure this therapeutic space is judgement-free.
My work as a psychotherapist is to help individuals when they recognise a struggle or emotional barrier, and together we can explore the issue, finding a path through or learning to accept and grow around it. In therapy, individuals begin to understand the purpose of their behaviours or perspectives and develop compassion and skills to support themselves better in everyday life. This may include developing self-confidence, emotional awareness, self-care practices, and the capacity to regulate difficult emotions.
I work with individuals (aged 16+) on a range of issues including but not limited to anxiety and stress, depression, relationship difficulties, bereavement and loss, childhood trauma, life transitions, suicidal ideation, self-esteem and other emotionally distressing experiences.
Siobhán is an associate of “Oakwood Psychology and Psychotherapy Consultants” in Castletroy and volunteers with Hospital FRC. Previously, Siobhán worked in healthcare and the field of creative arts.
Siobháns holds a Master’s degree and higher diploma in Psychotherapy and is an accredited member of IAHIP. Siobhán has also completed further training in ASIST suicide training and CBT (cognitive behaviour therapy).
